Quota started from a simple annoyance: every finance app worth using wanted a bank login, an account and a look at every transaction you make — in exchange for features that don't actually need any of that.
Quota was designed encrypted-local-first, not "cloud-first with a local cache." The database lives on your phone, encrypted and every feature — quotas, wallets, reports, charts — works fully offline.
Google Drive backup exists because losing your phone shouldn't mean losing years of budgeting history. But it's opt-in, encrypted before upload, and disconnectable at any time — never a requirement to use the app.
No ads, no push notifications trying to bring you back, no streaks engineered to guilt you into opening the app. Quota tries to be useful in the time you actually spend in it, and otherwise stay out of your way.
The core app — tracking, quotas, wallets, reports, backups — isn't a trial or a bait for a subscription. It's free because a budgeting tool that nags you to upgrade is a bad budgeting tool.
